A midrise luxury condo project
is seeing its legal headaches get bigger. Saving You Money's Jim
Snyder told you about the Vegas Grand, still under construction at
Flamingo and Swenson, facing two class action lawsuits.
Now the
law firms representing buyers have joined forces. The suit claims that
condo buyers with reservations to buy units in the Vegas Grand had the
welcome mat pulled out from under them when they were told there would
be an increase in price.
Investors we talked to said they
thought the agreement they signed locked in their rate. They said they
were surprised when they got a letter saying their current agreements
would be canceled and their deposits refunded if they didn't pay the
higher price.
"They want to get rid of me because they know had
I stayed in this I'd be making the money and it would be in my pocket,
not theirs and they're looking for it to be in theirs", said
Dona Rogner who contacted News 3 to tell us about the letter she got in
the mail from developer Del American.
There will be a Vegas
Grand purchasers meeting Wednesday, June 1 at 9a.m. and 5p.m. to
discuss the lawsuit. It will be held at the law offices of Marquis and
Aurbach's at 10001 Park Run Drive on the corner of Charleston and
Hualapai. Contact Craig Anderson at 942-2136 for more information.
